Employers Exposed To Knowledge On Practices And Procedures At Ministry Of Local

Employers are exposed to practical working knowledge of the procedures and practices at the Ministry of Labour and the Industrial Court.

This was done at the Trinidad and Tobago Chamber of Industry and Commerce held the first of its in-person meetings for members and the public on the Industrial Relations topic “Understanding Practices and Procedures at the Ministry of Labour and the Industrial Court of Trinidad and Tobago”.

The meeting, which was hosted by the Employment and Labour Relations Committee recently, was facilitated by Industrial Relations expert, Derek Ali, Esq., Attorney-at-Law.

Attendees would have gained an understanding of, inter alia, the role of the Industrial Court in upholding the principles and practices of good industrial relations and why a company might be reported by an employee to the Ministry of Labour.

Attendees would also have learnt of the function of the Registration and Certification Board.

In a media release on Tuesday the Chamber of Commerce said due to the importance of the topic, a repeat of the meeting will also be held in Tobago for the Tobago business community.
