Member of Parliament for Point Fortin, Edmund Dillon said that Education Minister Anthony Garcia indicated that there was an electrical issue at Point Fortin East Secondary school, which will be sorted out by the end of the week.
Speaking with members of the PTA outside of his constituency office this afternoon, Minister Dillon said he was made aware of the electrical problem by the Education Minister and explained that the school will be re-opened on Wednesday.
Members of the PTA were protesting after being called and told the school was being shut down until further notice. No explanation was provided.
Several parents from the PTA said they were not officially informed about the school being closed and expressed concern about the lack of communication from the Ministry of Education.
