In what is being described as one of the bloodiest weekends in several months, eight men were murdered in separate incidents over this past weekend.
One of the latest and most gruesome discoveries including the headless corpse of a yet unidentified man in St James Sunday morning.
Police reports indicate that from Friday night to Sunday, eight murders pushed the murder toll for the year so far to 113.
Victims were gunned down in Curepe, Arima, La Horquetta, Valencia, Embacadere, Tunapuna and Petit Valley and Curepe junction in broad daylight in Saturday. Some of the victims have been identified as Loriston Fletcher; Akim Terry Charles, 21; Nathaniel Gool, 23 and Steffan Francis , 31 from Arima.
One of the murder victims Osie Leonard an MSJ candidate in the 2019 Local government elections was found dead with a gunshot wound to the head, his body stuffed in the truck of a car. He was a father of three.
Police are said to be actively investigating all of the murders.
