Education Ministry To Make Public RFP On Procurement Of E-Book Platform

October is the time line being given by the Ministry of Education for the requests for proposals document to be made public in connection with the procurement of an e-book platform for use in the education sector of Trinidad and Tobago.

The Ministry has said it is currently being formulated.

In January 2021 a Request for Information on e-books was published to which there were forty-two respondents.

The Ministry of Education said it subsequently held a meeting with booksellers to discuss and clarify certain issues surrounding the provision of e-books.

In a media release on Wednesday, the Ministry said it took further steps to establish the availability of e-book platform providers from July 2021.

It said Cabinet approved the procurement of an E-book Platform by the MOE through iGovTT on June 23rd, 2022.

The public is also advised the provision of e-books is only one of 13 initial projects which comprise the Digital Transformation Plan 2022-25 of the Ministry of Education.

It said integral to the success of the e-book initiative are other projects currently ongoing, such as the digitization of all records for our over 250,000 ECCE, Primary and Secondary School students on the Student Management System , and the creation of e-classroom accounts for all students and teachers
on the School Learning Management System.

Further information about the details of the MOE’s Digital Transformation Plan will be elucidated to the public in short order.
