Education Ministry Assures All Arrangements Are In Place For Thursday’s SEA Exams

Arrangements are falling in place ahead of Thursday’s Secondary Entrance Assessment examination.

Confirmation of this development comes from Director of the Division of Educational Research and Evaluation, Mervyn Sambucharan.

Mr Sambucharan said this year 19,192 students will write the S.E.A.

The breakdown is 9,294 girls and 9, 904 boys.

Tobago has a registered candidate listing of 986 students while Trinidad has 18,212 candidates.

Students will be required to demonstrate their competence in Essay, English Language Arts Writing, Mathematics and English language Arts Grammar Section.

The examination is expected to run for three hours and twenty minutes.

There are 552 examination centres across Trinidad and Tobago.

Speaking at a news briefing Monday afternoon, Mr Sambuchan said since September 2021 the relevant ground work for the SEA started and principal packages have been delivered comprising of admission slips and student concession approvals.

Mr Sambuchan said teachers and principals have been exposed to a weeklong training to ensure they are adequately prepared to properly monitor the SEA.
