Musician Ed Sheeran explains why he thought he was gay while growing up.
Sheeran, 30, sat down for an interview on Dutch podcast “Man Man Man,” and opened up about his journey to understanding his sexuality growing up.
The singer says he never felt “hugely masculine.”
In a Buzzfeed report, Sheeran said “I definitely have a big feminine side. I love musical theatre. I love pop music. I love Britney Spears. My masculine side probably stops at drinking beer and watching football.”
“When I was a kid, I thought I was gay for a bit,” he shared.
He went on to say that he’d rather watch women’s sports. “I watched it and I was like, ‘I don’t know why I watch male football, this is much better.’”
