EBC’s preliminary voters list ready

The Elections and Boundaries Commission (EBC) is encouraging all political parties and registered electors (in Trinidad) to examine the Preliminary List of Electors, which has been sent to each of the polling divisions, for the upcoming Local Government Elections.

An official notice issued by the EBC and signed off by the Chief Election Officer, advised that all qualified electors are urged to make an earnest effort to examine the List to ensure that their names and addresses are correctly recorded.

The Commission says any registered elector whose name does not appear on the List must complete Form No.28 and submit it to the Registration Officer, no later than Sunday 3 November, 2019. This is to ensure their name is included on the Revised List of Electors, as an elector would not be allowed to vote unless his/her name appears on the Revised List of Electors.

The EBC is guiding persons seeking information on their registration status to call their Registration Area Office, or the Commission’s hotlines—627-1516 or 627-0745—between Thursday 24 October and Sunday 3 November, 2019, on the following days:

Monday to Friday… 8am to 6pm

Saturday… 9am to 3pm

Sunday… 9am to 2pm

Alternatively, citizens can visit the EBC’s website at www.ebctt.com

The EBC says the Electors Lists are published in accordance with Section 29 (1) of the Representation of the People Act, Chap 2:01.
