Dump truck flips and kills driver

An unfortunate accident along the Oropouche Mondesir Highway extension on Monday morning, has claimed the life of a a 48-year-old truck driver.

Clem Ramlal, from Caroni Savannah Road, Charlieville, was driving his Nissan dump truck along the highway extension around 9:15am when he experienced mechanical difficulties and lost control.

Reports state that his vehicle flipped and pinned him partially under the cab.

The driver of an excavator that was passing along, noticed the incident and rendered his assistance, lifting the truck and as such allowing the truck driver to be removed.

However, it was too late.
When officials from the Fire Service and Emergency Health Services responded, Ramlal was pronounced dead.
Ramlal was employed with General Earth Movers.
