Deputy Chief Secretary Watson Duke is acting as chief secretary of the Tobago House of Assembly.
This has come into play as Chief Secretary Farley Augustine is spending the weekend in Barbados.
A press release from the Office of the Chief Secretary on Friday said Augustine will spend his birthday in Barbados with his wife. They were expected to leave on Friday evening and return on Sunday.
The release noted that “the private trip is not paid for by the state.”
