Duke blames unemployment and border security for crime in Tobago

PDP leader Watson Duke has had it with crime on the sister isle and says he plans to engage with people in Tobago, in a bid to address crime.

During a Facebook Live today, he pointed to the island’s murder rate for 2024, which rose to 19 last night with the fatal shooting of 32-year-old Victoria Guerra in Argyle.

Mr Duke believes the increasing crime rate in Tobago is due to a number of factors including unemployment, underemployment and a lack of border security.

He adds that as an Assemblyman, he intends to do his part.
