Drunk drivers held in police road block granted $5,000 bail

Three men were arrested and charged for the offence of Driving Under the Influence yesterday, Thursday 11th February, 2021 during a road traffic exercise conducted by the Sangre Grande Police Traffic Section.

The exercise, coordinated by Ag. Snr Supt Khan and supervised by Sgt Johnson, saw the administering of 25 field sobriety tests, which
resulted in the arrest of 36-year-old Devanand Sudama, of Plum Mitan, Sangre Grande, 52-year-old Bickeram Joseph of Picton
Road, Sangre Grande, and 63-year-old Herman Webb, of Monkey Town, New Grant.

 

 

The three men appeared virtually today, Friday 12th February, 2021, before Sangre Grande Magistrate Sarah De Silva, where Webb and
Sudama were granted own bail in the sum of $5,000. Joseph, however, was reprimanded and discharged.

Webb is expected to reappear before Magistrate De Silva on Thursday 18th February, 2021, whereas Sudama is expected to
reappear on Friday 30th April, 2021.

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service wishes to remind members of the public once again to refrain from driving/operating any
vehicle after the consumption of any alcoholic drinks
