Dr Terrance Drew sworn in as St Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister after winning general elections

The newly elected Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew, was sworn in on Saturday afternoon.
He received the instrument of appointment at a brief swearing-in Ceremony at the Government House.

St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party recorded a landslide victory in the general elections held on August 5, 2022. They swept clear victory by winning 6 out of 8 constituencies of St Kitts. They paved the path of the parliament with a full majority. Dr Terrance Drew, who became the prime minister of the Federation for the first time elected from constituency number 8.

Dr Terrance Drew has been actively involved in his district and worked incredibly for the welfare of his constituency eight without getting elected. He offered true leadership in a variety of community programmes and raised the voice of the people against any wrong practices in society.

He is a philanthropist and community activist by temperament and worked for the empowerment of the young population and marginalised populations.

Wishes have been poured on Dr Drew for achieving the record-breaking victory.

Firstly, People’s Action Movement leader- Shawn K Richards extended greetings to Dr Drew by uttering a heartfelt message. He stated, “Congratulations to Dr Terrence Drew and his St. Kitts and Nevis Labour Party on assuming the leadership of our beloved Federation.”

Richards said that the result is due to that the people have spoken. They encourage SKNLP to work tirelessly, with the privilege of service that they have been given, to prove themselves equal to fulfilling their expectations for progress and prosperity, even as they advance their nation, regionally and internationally.

“Be assured of PAM’s very best wishes as you embark on your new tenure in governance. For God and country, always,” said the leader of PAM.

Along with this, Dr Timothy Harris- leader of the People’s Labour Party, also extended his best wishes to Dr Drew and encouraged him to do work for the betterment of St Kitts and Nevis.
