“I presume that the authorities in the British Parliament and the US Congress are delirious and the Trinidad mentioned in all these proceedings is not a real place but a location in a movie on Netflix and all the subject of someone’s imagination,” this according to Prime Minister, Dr. Keith Rowley.
Dr. Rowley responded to Opposition Leader, Kamla Persad-Bissessar this afternoon saying “this is my Cambridge Analytica comment on the closure, in Trinidad, its birthplace, as it remains wide open and troubling in England and America.”
Meanwhile, Commissioner of Police, Gary Griffith this morning said the criminal investigation into the Cambridge Analytica scandal and Trinidad and Tobago’s, involvement has been closed.
Commissioner Griffith, speaking at a TTPS media briefing on Wednesday morning at the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service headquarters in Port of Spain, said the matter around the ‘alleged unlawful accessing of electronic data’ which was heavily investigated has been closed.
This allegation which was written in a book by Christopher Wylie, created a wave of political ‘mud-slinging’ between the PNM and the UNC.
Commissioner Griffith said the TTPS became aware of the allegation in October 2019.
