PSA President Watson Duke is reported to be presently at the Central Police Station in Port of Spain.
He is expected to be charged with sedition. Roger Gaspard SC, has advised police to charge Public Service Association (PSA) Watson Duke with sedition.
Police executed a search at Duke’s home and at the offices of PSA headquarters earlier this week. Duke was detained by police on Monday and questioned. He complained of feeling unwell and was taken to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in Mt Hope, where he remained warded until late yesterday evening when he was discharged and returned to police custody.
He again complained feeling unwell once again this morning and was returned to the hospital.
It would have been unusual for police to lay the charges while he is hospitalized. It has been reported that the charges may stem from statements attributed to Duke on planned layoffs at TSTT, T&TEC, and WASA which Duke made in November of last year.
