Double murder in Arima; TTR spent shell found on the scene

Investigations are underway into the murder of two men in Arima on Sunday night.

The incident reportedly took place around 6:20pm last evening.

So far one of the victims has been identified as 38-year-old Akeem Alexander of Punette Avenue off Pinto Road in Arima, the other man remains unknown.

Police said they received a call about a shooting off Punette Road and upon arrival at the scene, were informed that someone was killed on Bobb Lane, off Punnette Avenue, where they observed a white Nissan Almera bearing registrations number PBS 6208 parked on the roadway facing east.

They then made checks and observed the lifeless body of a dreadlocked male of mixed descent, slumped in the driver’s seat. The man was wearing a grey T-shirt and red pants.
He had multiple gunshot wounds about his body. He was identified as Alexander

The front passenger’s door and seat had a blood trail moving away from the vehicle.

On following this trail, police found the body of another man, also with multiple gunshots.

Investigators recovered several spent shells, including one with markings of the TT Regiment.
