Donald Trump Vows to ‘Bring Down’ COVID-19 With Vaccine in 2020

U.S. President Donald Trump promised Thursday night, at the republican convention, a total victory over the new coronavirus pandemic thanks to the design this year, he assured, of a vaccine of which “hundreds of millions of doses will be rapidly available”.

“WE ARE MOBILIZING THE SCIENTIFIC GENIUS OF AMERICA TO DESIGN A VACCINE IN RECORD TIME,” HE SAID. “WE WILL HAVE A SAFE AND EFFECTIVE VACCINE THIS YEAR AND TOGETHER WE WILL DEFEAT THE VIRUS,” ADDED THE PRESIDENT-CANDIDATE.

“We will produce a vaccine before the end of the year, and maybe even sooner!”, He said in an allusion to a possible big announcement before the presidential election where he will run for a second term of four years.

The 45th American president is widely criticized for his procrastination in the face of the pandemic which he has long promised would disappear by “miracle”.

Americans do not appreciate the way Donald Trump is handling this unprecedented health crisis, which has claimed more than 180,000 lives in the United States. According to the average of the polls established by the site FiveThirtyEight, 58.2% disapprove of its response to the pandemic (38.7% approve).
