Doctor under investigation for racist comments pleads for more time

Martin George, the attorney for Dr Avinash Sawh, the doctor who was heard making racist comments in a telephone recording which went viral, is now hoping for more time to respond to the Medical Board and the multiple complaints lodged against Sawh.

The Medical Board announced last week that it was investigating the matter and it requested that Sawh provide a written explanation and respond to the complaints.

George has asked the Medical Board to give him until mid-December to respond to these complaints against his client.

He said there is a total of five complaints – one of which is from the Minister of Health – and they need more time to put together a comprehensive answer and deal with each one separately.
