A 49-year-old man has been killed in what police are describing as a freak accident.
Jerel John was killed on Sunday evening in Tyrico on the north coast.
John who was said to be a DJ and co-owner of ‘D Sunset Hut’ was standing at the front of his shop with his brother Kenrick Smalls.
Smalls explained while there a white Toyota Hilux suddenly crashed through the front door of their business place.
Police were notified and responded.
John was taken to the Port of Spain General hospital where she succumbed to his injuries.
Police said the driver of the van told them that he was driving along the North Coast Road when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the shop.
Investigations are continuing.
