Disciplinary Action Taken Against Eight MSDFS Employees Amid Fraud Allegations

Eight members of staff at the ministry of social development and family services who were allegedly engaged in fraudulent activities are from all levels of the organisation.

The disclosure came from Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Social Development and Family Services, Jacqueline Johnson, during the eleventh meeting of the Public Accounts Committee on Wednesday.

The committee addressed concerns raised in the Report of the Auditor General on the Public Accounts for the financial year 2021 with specific reference to the administering of grants.

Ms Johnson said some of the persons are on suspension, some at disciplinary level and one has been dismissed.

Ms Johnson confirmed the individuals suspended are in this position with pay.
