A male teen of Richplain, Diego Martin is expected to appear before a Port-of Spain Magistrate on Tuesday, December 28th, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The TTPS say the teen was arrested during an Operation Strike Back III exercise in the Western Division on December 24th.
The exercise, was conducted between 9 am and 2 pm in the West End Station District.
While the officers were on mobile patrol along Richplain, Diego Martin, they spotted a teenager who behaved suspiciously. The officers had cause to stop and search a 16-year-old boy, during the search, one Beretta pistol and nine rounds of 14 millimetre ammunition were seized.
The teen was arrested and subsequently charged for possession of firearm and possession of ammunition.
