A Diego Martin man is expected to appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate today, charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
SHAWN TOUSSAINT, 45, of Upper Dillon Street, Diego Martin, was charged with the offence, after being arrested by officers of the Western Division Task Force (WDTF) during an anti-crime exercise conducted in the district, between 7pm on Tuesday 5th January, 2021 and 2am on Wednesday 6th January, 2021.
During the exercise, officers proceeded to the home of the accused where they conducted a search and found two plastic bags containing 3.02 kilogrammes in his possession. The drug has an estimated street value of $30,200.
Toussaint was arrested and subsequently charged by PC Peltier of the WDTF on Wednesday 6th January, 2021.
The exercise was spearheaded by Snr. Supt. Thompson and ASP Baird, coordinated by Insps. Reyes and Grant and Sgt. (Ag.) Carmona and also included officers of the Canine Unit.
