Dialysis Unit operational at Scarborough Health Centre

Services have resumed at the Dialysis Unit at the Scarborough Health Centre.

In a press release issued by the Centre, some staff has returned to work and treatment of patients has resumed. Patients will be assessed by clinicians and arrangements will be made for high risk patients to be treated at private institutions in Trinidad. Corrective works are being undertaken, which include the installation of the extractor fan and all minor repairs completed. Additionally, CARIRI has been engaged to assess the air quality of the Unit and will submit a report at the end of the assessment. The Division of Health, Wellness and Family Development continues to support the Tobago Regional Health Authority to ensure that staff has a safe working environment.

The Secretary for Health, Wellness and Family Development, Councillor Dr. Agatha Carrington visited the staff of the Dialysis Unit at the Scarborough Health Centre to assist in the speedy resolution of the outstanding infrastructural issues being experienced at the Unit.
