Works necessary to return the Point Lisas Desalination Plant to full production of 40 million gallons per day , are still ongoing.
Desalcott has advised the Water and Sewage Authority of the situation.
The plant was shut down for planned maintenance work recently.
Customers in parts of Central and South Trinidad were affected by the move.
However, the facility was restarted at approximately 7:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Owner and operator of the plant, Descalcott, have since been ramping up operations, which currently stands at 36 million gallons per day.
The Authority is continuing to liaise with Desalcott regarding the completion of these works and will provide a further update subsequently.
Customers are advised the Authority is working towards the gradual normalization of its transmission and distribution system over the coming days.
However, customers at elevated or extremities of the distribution system may continue to experience a disruption in service until the Plant returns to full production.
In the interim, the Authority is working to service affected customers in keeping with the published temporary water supply schedules.
