Desalcott Completes Scheduled Maintenance Works

The Desalination Company of Trinidad and Tobago has completed scheduled maintenance works and has returned to service.

The Desalcott owned and operated plant, provides 40 million gallons daily to WASA, which is used to supply the Point Lisas Industrial Estate, as well as augment the supply to areas in Central and South Trinidad.

On December 5th , Desalcott restarted their operations, ramping up production which resumed supply to the Authority, allowing the Authority to effect distribution to areas of south Trinidad.

On December 6th , Desalcott was forced to conduct emergency repairs to a leak at their facility, which resulted in reduced flows from the facility to the Authority.

However, this temporary setback lasted four hours from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The facility was brought back into full operation and production ramped up to 40 MIGD by midnight, December 6th 2022.

The Authority thanks our valued customers for their patience and understanding throughout the duration of these planned works.
