Debe man dies on impact after falling 40 feet from mango tree

A climb for mangoes ended fatally yesterday for a 62-year-old man.

Bikery Seegobin died after falling 40 feet while picking mangoes for a relative in Debe.

Around 9.45 am, Seegobin and a friend went to pick rose mangoes on family land 200 feet into a forested area at Seuradge Trace, Debe.

Seegobin’s friend told officers a high breeze or loose branch may have caused Seegobin to fall to his death.

Police said the 62-year-old fell face-up and died on impact from the fall.

Seegobin lived at Bekharry Drive, Debe, with his common-law wife. He had no children.
