A 65-year-old was stabbed to death at her Maraval home on Tuesday and police are now working with the theory that her death may have been due to family issues.
Anjanee Lutchman-Isidore, was found by a relative lying on the ground in the kitchen of her two-storey Saut D’Eau Road home at around 5.30 pm.
The relative called the police, who arrived minutes later.
Lutchman-Isidore’s body was found face down behind a grey metal kitchen door. There was blood on her head.
The district medical officer pronounced her dead and ordered her body to be removed.
One resident, in a GML report, said there had been an ongoing dispute over the family-owned property which was nestled on the hillside in Maraval.
Another person told the media house that her presence may have “agitated” other relatives.
Initial reports claimed her death may have occurred during a robbery, but it was uncertain if and what was taken from the house up to late yesterday.
