DCP Mc Donald Jacob: The TTPS Is Short By About 1,000 Officers

The Trinidad and Tobago Police Service is short by about 1,000 officers.

Confirmation of this development comes from Deputy Commissioner of Police, Mc Donald Jacob.

DCP Jacob made the revelation as he responded to a question posed to him by a reporter at the Ministry of National Security news briefing which was held at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Port of Spain, Monday afternoon.

The senior TTPS official said at present the manpower strength of the service is 6, 700 officers but 1,000 more officers will put the TTPS in a better position to carry out its duties properly.

DCP Jacob said a manpower audit was done into the TTPS and he provided some information into the recommendations which were put forward coming out of a report done in this area.
