Davidson-Celestine Responds To Call To Resign:”Now Is Not The Time For Haphazard Approach”

Head of the Tobago PNM Council, Tracy Davidson-Celestine is maintaining that any sudden resignation of the Council’s executive could have a negative effect on the party because there would be no system in place to elect a new executive.

Mrs Davidson-Celestine issued a statement of the heels of calls by the council’s former chairman Stanford Callender for the entire executive to resign after its recent defeat in the Tobago House of Assembly (THA) election at the hands of the Progressive Democratic Patriots (PDP).

Mr Callender tendered his resignation on Wednesday, based on his decision “to give the party an opportunity to restructure and re-engineer itself”.

Mrs Davidson-Celestine said that now is not the time for a haphazard approach. She says the PNM remains strong and resilient.
