Three men tried to rob Gold Kingdom Jewelry, a store located in Trincity Mall around 12:30pm today.
In a press release issued by the Mall’s management, the company has confirmed the reports that there was an attempted armed robbery at one of its stores. The police are on the scene conducting investigations and the Mall’s CCTV footage will be used to assist police with their investigations.
Thus far, no word has been given on if any of the staff were harmed or if the bandits made off with a loot. One witness said shots were fired.
Trincity Mall is still open and people can enter and exit freely. The release encouraged persons to contact the Mall’s security should they feel unsafe and urged customers to be aware of their surroundings.
The release continued “Security officers are out and about in all areas of the mall to ensure that you have a safe and enjoyable shopping experience”.
