CWU: Employers need to do more to protect workers from Covid

Secretary General of the Communication Workers Union, Clyde Elder, says the CWU is suggesting greater urgency from employers in ensuring proper protocols are followed when workers it represents test positive for COVID-19.

The CWU Secretary General cited two companies where this aspect was not done in a timely manner.

The trade unionist also appealed for regular sanitizing of company vehicles and fair treatment of workers who contract the virus.

Meanwhile, President of the National Primary Schools Principals’ Association, Carlene Haynes, is urging its members to work from home to safe guard themselves as Trinidad and Tobago continues to see a drastic increase in COVID-19 cases and deaths.
