Customers To Get Water From 8PM Today From Navet Treatment Plant

8 this evening is the timeline being given by the Water and Sewage Authority for the full restoration of the water supply from the Navet Water Treatment Plant to thousands of residents of the South Eastern peninsula of Trinidad.

This was disclosed by Leader of Government Business in the Senate, Paula Gopee Scoon, Tuesday afternoon.

On Monday an electrical power outage was experienced as a result of which the pumps at the reservoir were unable to send raw water to the plant for treatment and storage within the clear well.

This situation resulted in low clear well levels being experienced at the Navet Water Treatment Plant resulting in discolored water being transmitted into the system.

Following the discovery of this situation all seventeen off takes along the transmission main from the Navet Water Treatment Plant were immediately closed to contain the discolored water from continuing to enter the distribution system.
