CPO Expects Trade Unions’ Counter Wage Offer By June 15th

Labour leaders plan to meet soon on what course of action they will take with respect to the two percent wage increase offer for public servants by the Chief Personnel Officer.

Confirmation of this comes from President General of the National Union of Government and Federated Workers Union, James Lambert.

Speaking at a news briefing held on Friday at the NUGFW Head Office, Port of Spain, Mr Lambert said the CPO is expecting a counter-offer from the unions at the collective bargaining table on June 15th.

Mr Lambert said they were told by the CPO this information will then be passed on to his superiors.

Meanwhile, General Secretary of the National Trade Union Centre, Michael Annisette, said now is the time for employees to unite and rally together for improved conditions for the working class.
