CPO, Amalgamated Union Begin Discussions On Job Evaluation Exercise

It will cost one million TT dollars to initiate the new job evaluation exercise for daily paid workers of the Port of Spain City Corporation this fiscal year, 2022-2023.

This was revealed by Chief Personnel Officer, Commander Dr. Daryl Dindial.

Commander Dindial recently met with members of the Amalgamated Workers Union to convene discussions on the venture.

Discussions were said to focus on the Job Evaluation methodologies, timelines, costs consideration, and the governance structure of the Steering and Job Evaluation Committees.

This is to support the development of appropriate mechanisms and criteria for effective and efficient leadership and administration of the exercise.

Moreover, the CPO was advised of the enrollment of eighteen members of AWU at the Cipriani College of Labour and Co-operative Studies on fully paid scholarships, and AWU’s commitment to engage MIC Institute of Technologies for additional scholarships for other members to train in technical/vocational areas.

The scholarship initiative for AWU’s members was also a direct outcome of the recently concluded negotiations between the Chief Personnel Officer and the Amalgamated Workers Union.

A follow-up meeting is scheduled for the 1st week in November 2022.
