Principal Medical Officer, Dr Maryam Abdool-Richards has revealed that COVID-19 hospital and A&E rates are now at the lowest levels seen in quite some time.
Speaking at Saturday’s Ministry of Health media briefing, Dr Abool-Richards said in December 2021, overall occupancy levels peaked just before Christmas at 81%.
She notes that, since then, there have slow declines to an overall occupancy rate of 47% and an ICU occupancy rate of 46%.
Dr Abdool-Richards however urged caution despite the decreased figures as she said the virus is “uncertain”.
