One Opposition Member of Parliament says the holy month of Ramadan -which starts today – teaches self-discipline, prudence, sacrifice and empathy for those in need, promoting acts of generosity and compulsory charity.
MP for Couva South, Rudy Indarsingh, says for Muslims, Ramadan is the ideal time for us to reconnect with our spirituality, family and society, as well as, to strengthen our willpower.
MP Indarsingh said for Muslims, Ramadan is a spiritual period which represents commitment, contemplation, and discipline and enables us to protect ourselves from sin by fasting.
