Correction: COVID vaccines were in fact a gift from Barbados

The Minister of Health, Terrence Deyalsingh, has corrected a statement made during the media conference today, Wednesday 17th February, 2021 concerning the vaccines received from Barbados.

The Minister in a media release issued this evening confirmed that “the 2,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine were, in fact, a gift given to Trinidad and Tobago from Barbados.”

This he said was provided from the stock of vaccines that the Government of India provided to Barbados for their use.

The Minister of Health said he was misinformed and apologised for the error.

The Minister also offered his gratitude to the people of Barbados for their kind gesture of regional collaboration.
