Police are trying to identify a man who was thrown out of a vehicle in Cunupia on Thursday night and later died at hospital.
The victim was found lying in a pool of blood along Topaz Avenue, Chin Chin Gardens, around 11:20 pm on Thursday (August 8, 2024).
Police received an anonymous call of an injured man, and upon investigating, they found the victim alive.
The victim was found bleeding from wounds to the back and top of his head, whilst a bloody spanner was found lying a short distance away.
Efforts by officers to interview the victim proved futile as he was unable to respond to questions.
The Emergency Health Services took the victim to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex, Mt Hope, where he was treated for significant head trauma.
However, the unidentified man succumbed to his injuries around 1:21 am on Friday.
Enquiries revealed that a black Suzuki with its’ trunk opened, turned onto Topaz Avenue from Bridal Road, Chin Chin Gardens, Cunupia, and as it was speeding in an easterly direction, the victim was tossed out of the back of the vehicle.
The victim, who was of East-Indian descent, was six-feet tall and dark brown in complexion. He had a goatee beard and a tattoo with an abstract design on his entire left hand.
At the time he was discovered, the victim was clad in a white jersey and a pair of blue three-quarter jeans.
