Commissioner of Police, Erla Christopher and the Executive of the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service are aware of a video currently circulating on social media, that allegedly shows a fatal police shooting.
Commissioner Christopher has ordered an immediate investigation into the matter and awaits the findings of the investigative team.
The alleged incident occurred in the Southern Division on Friday.
The video shows a robbery suspects, who appears to be unarmed, crawling on his belly as he tried to hide behind a wrecked vehicle in a grassy area as an officer was shooting.
The TTPS said further updates will be shared with the public as more information becomes available.
