CoP: “Highway shooting gang related”

A shooting on the Solomon Hochoy Highway on Monday left two people dead and one
wounded.
Onlookers viewed the gruesome scene as a bullet riddled Toyota Altis bore the two bullet
riddled bodies, one inside and the other slumped outside the vehicle.
Reports indicate that the three were in a vehicle heading north on the Sir Solomon Hochoy
Highway, just before Gasparillo, when the shooting incident occurred.
Two men died at the scene, while one was said to be seriously wounded after being shot in the
neck.
The wounded man is said to be in critical condition at hospital.
Acting Police Commissioner McDonald Jacobs referred to the incident as a sign of gang violence.
He said he felt it necessary to visit the scene of the shooting which occurred in Toruba at 10:45
am on Monday in the vacinity of the Brian Lara Stadium.

The shooting occurred on the north bound lane of the Solomon Hochoy Highway.
One of the victims has been identified as Enrique Gill aka 'Spongebob' of Nelson Street, Port of
Spain and Carapichima.
The other deceased man was unidentified up to last night.
The third occupant who was wounded in the shooting is said to be Kevin Mitchell.
Commissioner Jacob assured that the police was in receipt of critical information that could lead
to finding those responsible.
He said that the intention is to end the scourge of gang violence in the country.
