CoP finally takes leave; heading to Ireland on one-month vacation

Commissioner of Police Gary Griffith is about to get some much needed rest.
The top CoP is set to proceed on one-month vacation, beginning Friday.

He will be headed to Ireland, where it is reported that he will support his son Gary Griffith III, who is playing professional football there.

Griffith applied to the Minister of National Security for 21 working days.

News of his leave comes moments after a rumour began circulating on social media today, that the Police Service Commission met on Tuesday morning, and a decision was taken to send Griffith on “administrative leave with immediate effect”.

But that was false.

Head of Corporate Communications for the TTPS, Francis Joseph, confirmed that Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police, McDonald Jacob, will act as police commissioner from Friday.

Mr. Jacob currently is on leave and returns to work this week.
