Cop and wife beaten and robbed in Princes Town home invasion

The search is on for two men who beat and robbed a 38-year-old police officer and his wife in an early morning home invasion in Princes Town.

The bandits relieved the couple of cash valuables and the policeman’s badge and ID card.

Police reported that around 6 am yesterday, the police officer, his wife and two children were asleep when they were awakened by two armed men of African descent.

The men proceeded to beat the police officer and his wife, while their children looked on helplessly.

The bandits demanded that the police officer pass over his firearm to them. However, he had no firearm.

The bandits then searched the house and relieved them of an undisclosed sum of cash, valuables, the officer’s ID card and his police badge. The men then escaped.

The couple later sought medical attention and made a report. officers said the children were severely traumatised by the incident.

Officers of Princes Town police are continuing investigation.
