Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Roshan Parasram, says it important citizens ensure there Yellow Fever status is up to date in light of a recent
increase in the number of deaths within the monkey population in South Trinidad.
On Tuesday in a media release the Ministry of Health said laboratory testing by the Caribbean Public Health Agency subsequently confirmed the presence of the Yellow Fever virus in samples obtained from the bodies of dead monkeys from this area.
Speaking at the Ministry of Health virtual news briefing today, CMO Parasram, said it critical the population do what is required to treat with this latest development.
