Community Recovery Programme Recommendations Being Utilised, Assures Nat’l Security Minister

Recommendations from the ground work done by the Community Recovery Programme have been accepted by cabinet and are being used by the government in various areas.

Confirmation of this comes from Minister of National Security, Fitzgerald Hinds.

Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, established the Community Recovery Committee two years ago to develop and evaluate, and design a path forward for communities in need.

Chairman Anthony Watkins headed this team.

Speaking in the parliament during debate on the Miscellaneous Provisions Criminal Proceedings Bill on Tuesday, Minister Hinds assured the proposals from the committee are being utilised.

Meanwhile, Opposition Senator, Dr Roodal Moonilal, said Monday’s protest action points the need for addressing challenges in Beetham Gardens.
