NCC’s A Taste of Carnival in collaboration with TUCO’s Clash of Tents Showdown kicked off T&T’s showcase of calyosonians.
The event was hosted at Naparima Bowl, San Fernando, on Sunday.
Both the auditorium and amphitheatre were open to spectators who were greeted to 32 calypsonians.
Patrons enjoyed music from Diane “Lady Wonder” Hendrickson, NCC chairman Winston “Gypsy” Peter’s and Edwin “Crazy” Ayong, Duane O’Connor, Super Blue, Allrounder, Prince Unique from Tobago and many more.
Hendrickson was guided into the amphitheatre and engaged some fans, including calypsonian Joanne “Tigress” Rowley.
The evening would not be complete without Extempo by some of the country’s greats – Myron B, Gypsy, Black Sage, Kevan Calliste.
While COVID-19 regulations were in place at Naparima Bowl quite a lot seats were empty, however persons who attended celebrated the return of one of Carnival’s most loved events.
