Chase Village resident to appear in court on break-in charges

Freeport Police believe they have made a dent into the spate of house break-ins and thefts in that district.

This comes as officers of the Freeport Criminal Investigations Department (CID) arrested a suspect in connection to three reports of house break-ins and larceny which occurred over a two-week period.

The accused, CLINT GANNESS, aka ‘Yankee,’ of Derrick Road, Chase Village, will appear virtually before a Chaguanas Magistrate today, Monday 9th November, 2020, charged with two counts of house break-in and larceny and one count of house break-in with intent.

GANNESS was arrested on Friday 6th November, 2020, in the Cedros district, after being spotted by officers of the
Cedros Police Station, in connection with three incidents which occurred on October 28th, November 2nd and 3rd.

He was subsequently handed over to officers of the Freeport CID who continued enquiries and allegedly recovered several of the stolen items from the reports.

The investigation was led by PC Rampersad of the Freeport CID with the assistance of Cpl (Ag.) Baboolal.
