Charred remains found to be that of missing woman Danette Pierre

The charred remains that were found in a car in Claxton Bay on January 28th have been confirmed to be that of missing woman Danette Pierre.

This was confirmed via a DNA test on the remains.

Danette, 31, a mother of three, of Petite Morne, Ste Madeleine, left her home around 8.30 pm on January 28 after receiving a phone call. She told her mother she was “making a turn” and was “coming back now.”

However, she never returned.

About an hour later, the police were alerted to a car on fire at Cedar Hill Road in Claxton Bay. When the fire was extinguished, they found a body burnt to the bone in the back seat area of a Mazda 3.

Danette was reported missing by mother the following day.
DNA samples were taken from the mother on February 6th and on March 1, the results returned stating it was Danette

In an interview with GML, the elder Pierre said she was in a state of disbelief.
