Charlotteville Jetty in Tobago to be upgraded

The Charlotteville Jetty is being upgraded ahead of the next cruise season.

The THA’s Division of Infrastructure says the Jetty, which now measures 5 feet by 20 feet, will be widened to 7 feet by 37 feet.

The project began today and is expected to be completed in 30 days, barring good weather.

It says vessels being serviced along the existing jetty experienced some difficulty during the recently concluded cruise season.

As such, it says the upgrade is a response to the need for a more efficient and safer berthing for cruise liners.

Cruise season traditionally runs from November to April.
