Chaguanas to Sando taxi fare being reduced by $2

President of the T&T Taxi Drivers’ Network, Adrian Acosta has stated that in light of government’s decision to allow drivers of maxis and taxis to increase their seating capacity from 50% to 75%, his route association is now planning to reduce fares.

Speaking on 103.1FM News this morning, Acosta said drivers on his route, Chaguanas to San Fernando, are looking at a $2 fare reduction.

He told the network that the reduction will go into effect from tomorrow, July 1st and will see passengers paying $16 instead of $18.

However, he said he could not speak on the fares of other taxi associations.

The T&T Taxi Drivers’ Network consists of approximately 35 taxi associations across the country.
