One Opposition Member of Parliament is appealing to the government to increase the number of food cards allocated to them.
MP for Chaguanas East, Vandana Mohit, made the request during a news briefing held by the United National Congress on Thursday.
MP Mohit said with no NAMDEVCO hampers being distributed to poor and vulnerable families this Christmas, consideration should be given to increasing the number of food cards to those desperately in need.
MP Mohit also called for the fast tracking of flooding claims to those in need of them.
