Chaguanas businessman recued after being held for 26 days

Chaguanas businessman Kartikay Ramsundar, who was kidnapped last month, was rescued by the police yesterday.

A release from the TTPS said Ramsundar, was rescued by officers of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit (AKU), Special Operations Response Team (SORT), Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and other arms of national security.

According to the TTPS, no ransom was paid and two suspects were now in custody assisting officers with their investigations into the incident.

Police reportedly executed an operation in the Central and South-Western Divisions which led to Ramsundar’s rescue.

Ramsundar was taken to a medical facility after his rescue, where he was medically examined and subsequently reunited with his family.

The exercise was coordinated by Deputy Commissioner of Police Mc Donald Jacob and the AKU led by Assistant Superintendent Romel Morales.
